What does it mean to aim.

Setting your sights forward towards a goal means you are willing to miss, fail, and make mistakes. It also means you are willing to forgive, pick yourself up, and keep going.

I aim to have hopeful thoughts – but I also get lost in despair. I aim to take actions from a loving mindset – but I also get lost in fear. I aim to have a loving perspective – but I also feel hurt and angry. I aim to be joy – but I also feel burdened. And yet, I forgive myself for getting lost in thoughts and reactions. It is what our brains are designed to do – react to our life circumstances. And yet we can pull ourselves out of reaction.

So I try again and again – because I am aiming for a different life. The more you practice transitioning from fear to love, the easier it gets. It is normal to get lost, it is brave to come back while knowing you’ll get lost again. Maybe even a few minutes later. I for one refuse to give up, because I know that embracing hopeful thoughts is how we survive.
