Of texture and squares and places my feet took me

Today has been a very, very busy day. It began by me going to maths tutoring and then getting a hair cut. I’ve cut 4.5 inches off my hair and its so short now I can’t even. But all the split ends that gathered from stress and the dry grossness has gone and gah its so nice and healthy now. Yay for new hair!

After that eventful morning, my sister and I went on another of our famous sister bonding days. We traipsed around the city and I had my first taste of Yum Cha before we walked off our delicious meals to the Art Gallery of New South Wales:

Hyde Park never fails to amaze me.

The Art Gallery of New South Wales simply blew me away. It always does. It’s a tradition for my sister and I to visit the Art Express exhibition every year. This exhibition showcases the most talented, ingenious and unique bodies of work from the Visual Arts Course of the HSC. My sister’s avid love for art and my appreciation of the ideas and ways in which people express themselves without words for the most part has fuelled our interests and love for art. While my sister is simply a maestro with art and I oppositely cannot draw a straight line without a ruler, art has truly allowed us to both explore our passions and bring us together in sharing our love for the Art Gallery:

Being in this exhibition space allowed me to immerse myself in the joys of creation and be inspired by the impassioned dedication placed in these works of art. I was simply blown away. I always am.

We then traipsed into the classical, European section of the gallery, showcasing paintings and sculptures from the 16th – 21st centuries. While the depth and breadth of these artworks astounded me, what continuously caught my eye were the elaborate frames that held these precious stories:

It truly has been an exciting day. We finished the day off with some amazing coffee and sat in QVB chatting for some time before buying flowers, because why not (:

It’s now time to relax with a movie I have to watch for extension english. Having fun and doing something educational. I’m winning at life.

Today was an amazing sister bonding day.
