Afternoon surprises

I came home from a very shitty (pardon the language) maths exam today and I was feeling extraordinarily down. It was more than usual and I just wanted to curl up into a ball and not have to face school or my teachers or the HSC. AND THEN MY SISTER CALLS ME BECAUSE SHE’S ON BREAK AT HER INTERNSHIP AND TELLS ME WE’RE GOING TO SEE FEDERER PLAY LIVE IN THE SUMMER OMG SO EXCITED I CANNOT CONTAIN THESE EMOTIONS BECAUSE FEDERER IS FOREVER THE SHINING STAR IN TENNIS AND HIM AND DJOKOVIC AND NADAL ARE THE BAE IN TENNIS AND THEY GIVE ME SO MUCH LIFE WATCHING THEM EVERY TIME A TENNIS TOURNAMENT ROLLS AROUND BECAUSE THEY ARE SO ELEGANT ON COURT. THEY ARE ALL SO AMAZING TO WATCH AND WHILE I SIT THERE SNACKING IN ANTICIPATION I CANNOT EVEN. THEY GIVE ME LIFE.

sorry. I’m very excited to see Federer play. And I know my rant up there made no sense. I blame my inherent lack of sanity today on the maths exam I was subjected to, which utterly destroyed all rational thinking capability I have. Thanks school.

Take me back

I’m oddly reflective this week. The week has been… crazy in the least. I’ve been in the mood to take a holiday but let’s be real. That isn’t happening for at least another 12 months so all I can do now is dream and pull myself from reality into an imaginary place of peace and serenity.

Waiting for these academic endeavours to slow down so I can return to (some of) these marvellous places and find myself once again. Right now, I’m stuck in the whirlwind of paper, pens, assessments, meetings and life. Fun.
